The model for our Orb Sconce part is ready for mold making. The 3D printed flared cylinder will create the volume necessary for the reservoir of slip at the top of the mold. As the surface quality of this area isn't important, a simple PLA print will suffice.
Back in the shop, but still on crutches. This week, the doctor cleared me to start bearing weight on my leg, but only up to 50 lbs. I can ‘walk’ on it, but only with the assistance of crutches. For another 6 weeks 😳
We just received this CNC'd part for the upcoming Orb Sconce. We merely needed a model with smooth surface quality for the next step in the process, making a plaster mold. Our vendor recommended flame polished acrylic. I had no idea it'd turn out so nice. I'll be a bit sad to cover this in plaster, but I'm sure it'll make a nice mold. 👍

We're working on a custom wall bracket for our upcoming Orb Sconce. The bracket will spread out to snugly secure the stoneware fitting to the wall, with no exposed fasteners. 3D printed prototype to be lasercut sheet metal in production.
Choices, choices.... 5+ more weeks before I can put weight on my leg. 😕
Testing out some glaze / finish combos for the Orb series.
