Do the lamps require assembly? The small Moso pendant is shipped assembled, while the large requires assembly. This is a simple process, as the shade panels pop into the bamboo frame without any fasteners or glue.
Do your lamps require a certain type of bulb? The Moso pendants use compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) with the GU24 base. CFLs were selected for their energy-efficiency, long life, and to reduce the heat to which the bamboo shade panels are exposed.
What is GU24? This relatively new socket/base system was designed as a replacement to the standard Edison screw base to ensure that only energy-efficient CFLs are installed. A GU24 lamp is easily and securely installed with quick twist. An important advantage of this GU24 base is compliance with the Energy Star program and California's Title 24 standards. A GU24 bulb will be included with each pendant.
How bright are the bulbs that come with the pendants? The small pendant ships with a 13w (equivalent to a 60w incandescent) warm white lamp. The large ships with an 18w (75w equivalent) warm white lamp.
Are replacement lamps easily available? The use of GU24 compact fluorescent lamps is becoming more widespread. As a result, they being stocked at many hardware stores and lighting suppliers. Call ahead to confirm availability. An extensive selection of bulbs is also available online. Search for GU24 at lightbulbemporium.com or 1000bulbs.com.
How long is the power cord on the fixtures? What is included? The swag fixture comes with a 15' long round white cord, inline switch, and molded plug. The hardwire option includes 6' of white round cord, a Ø 5" white ceiling canopy, and installation hardware.
